An opportunity has arisen to join a major UK residential developer as an Engineer within the Technical team for the East Midlands region.
Position Overview
The Senior Engineer will support the Engineering Manager and take responsibility for a portfolio of developments, including sites with more complex technical requirements. The role involves producing accurate engineering information, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring work is delivered to agreed timescales.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate engineering information between internal teams and external consultants, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
- Review engineering drawings and details to confirm accuracy, practicality and commercial suitability.
- Oversee applications for statutory approvals relating to engineering design and land remediation.
- Carry out site visits and attend meetings to resolve technical issues that emerge during construction.
- Participate in design discussions with highways and drainage authorities to understand local requirements for new developments.
- Secure technical approvals associated with s38 and s104 agreements.
- Arrange site investigations and develop suitable engineering solutions.
- Assess ground investigation reports for proposed sites and ensure appropriate remediation strategies are in place.
- Ensure all approvals and documentation are obtained in time for planned site start dates.
- Support, mentor and develop team members within the engineering function.
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Experience
- Experience operating at senior engineering level, or significant background in engineering.
- Previous experience within residential development or a consultancy environment is advantageous.
- AutoCAD experience preferred.
Qualifications & Training
- Degree or HNC/HND in Construction, Engineering or a related discipline.
- CSCS card or equivalent.
- Full UK driving licence.

- Strong communication and presentation skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to explain technical information clearly and concisely.
- Highly organised, methodical and committed to delivering high standards.
- Strong problem-solving capability and the ability to act quickly and effectively.
