Role: Health & Safety Advisor

Location: Cambridge (covering sites across East Anglia region)

Salary: Up to £50,000 p/a (dependent on experience)

Car allowance: £1,000 per month

Are you an experienced H&S professional with a background in large scale civils, groundworks and new build residential projects, looking for a fresh opportunity? We have an exciting new opportunity with our client, one of the country's largest civil engineering contractors working residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors. They are looking for an ambitious H&S professional to work within their growing health and safety team, and based out of their Cambridge office, covering sites around the eastern counties.

Key duties:

  • Provide support and assistance to senior management and subordinates on H&S issues.
  • Attend planned pre-commencement meetings and proactively contribute to and shape the initial decisions made by the contract team.
  • Promote and embed a positive H&S culture within the company.
  • Undertake production of RAMS.
  • Planned site visits and audits including reporting and follow up actions.
  • Identify training needs and deliver on site training including toolbox talks.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents.
  • Ensure Company compliance with CDM regulations and other relevant statutes.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working as a H&S Advisor, ideally within groundworks, civils or new build environments.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications.
  • Proficient in Accident/Incident investigation & RCA.
  • Proficient in data analysis & compiling Reports.
  • Competent in core standard Microsoft Software.
  • Good communication and IT skills.
