Duration: Freelance role, 2-4 months (potential for extension)

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Buyer / Buyer to join a leading national house builder on a freelance basis, working from their Wakefield head office. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in residential construction buying to support a busy commercial team.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Placing material and subcontract orders
  • Liaising with suppliers and site teams
  • Managing procurement schedules
  • Using the COINS system for order processing and tracking
  • Supporting the commercial team with general buying admin tasks

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Buyer or Assistant Buyer role within new build housing
  • COINS software experience is essential
  • Good understanding of construction processes and terminology
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced office environment
