We are recruiting for an experienced Regional Estimator to join a successful and growing housing developer based in the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute construction professional to play a key role in land acquisition, cost planning, and the successful delivery of new housing developments across the region.
Working closely with Land, Technical, Commercial and Construction teams, you will be responsible for preparing accurate land appraisals, build cost estimates, and supporting strategic business decisions on new housing opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed land appraisals for new housing developments
- Produce accurate build cost estimates and site budgets
- Analyse drawings, specifications and technical information
- Obtain and review subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Maintain current house type and housing build cost databases
- Support land bids and investment decisions with commercial input
- Liaise with internal departments including Land, Technical, Commercial and Construction
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management approval
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the housebuilding, housing developer or residential construction sector
- Strong understanding of housing build costs, subcontract procurement and development appraisals
- Experience working for a regional or national housing developer preferred
- Good knowledge of current construction methods and market rates
- Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
- Strong IT skills including Excel (Bluebeam or similar software advantageous)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong communication skills with a proactive approach
