About Us: We are delighted to be supporting our client, a leading civil engineering contractor with decades of experience in residential construction projects, as they seek to add an experienced Quantity Surveyor to their growing team. They have built a strong reputation across a range of sectors including residential, commercial and industrial and pride themselves on maintaining exceptional standards across their work, leading to a strong order book of upcoming work.
The Role: As expected with an experienced QS, you will play a vital role in managing project costs, ensuring financial efficiency, and maintaining excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of residential groundworks projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing, managing, and monitoring project budgets and financial forecasts.
- Conducting cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project efficiency.
- Preparing and submitting valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Procuring subcontractors, negotiating contracts, and managing supply chain relationships.
- Ensuring projects are completed within financial parameters and agreed timelines.
- Conducting site visits and liaising with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Managing risk assessments and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Providing accurate financial reports and recommendations to senior management.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential groundworks sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost control measures.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Strong working knowledge of industry-standard software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required.
