Our client, an industry leading main contractor specialising in industrial, commercial and multi-unit builds, are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead their site team on a live, high-value multi-room project in Leeds. This is a key leadership role, working closely with the Project Manager to plan, coordinate and deliver works safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
The Role
As Senior Site Manager, you will take full ownership of day-to-day site operations, with a strong focus on Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, planning and coordination of works. You will lead by example on site, manage teams and subcontractors, and ensure the project is delivered in line with programme, design and commercial requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Full day-to-day management of site activities
- Ownership of Health & Safety on site, promoting a strong safety culture
- Overall responsibility for Quality Assurance and site compliance
- Planning and coordinating works, logistics and labour
- Producing weekly work plans with the Project Manager
- Leading subcontractors, site teams and contractor meetings
- Reporting progress, risks and issues to the Project Manager
- Liaising with M&E, Design and Commercial teams to ensure consistency from design through delivery
- Supporting cost reporting and understanding contractual obligations
- Mentoring and developing junior site staff
Requirements
- SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS (Management) and Temporary Works Coordinator
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Senior Site Manager on high-value multi-room projects
- Proven team leadership and strong commercial awareness
- Able to provide references from similar projects
- Strong communicator with good IT skills
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Flexible to work extended hours when required by the programme
