Linsco are delighted to be working alongside a well-established, family-owned construction business who are looking to appoint an Estimator / Estimating Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Property Services division based in Derby.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering refurbishment, maintenance and property improvement projects across the Midlands.
Working within an experienced commercial team, you will play a key role in pricing projects, supporting project delivery and ensuring commercial success from tender stage through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate estimates for refurbishment and property services projects up to £5m.
- Obtain and assess quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Price labour, plant, materials and subcontract packages.
- Support the commercial management of projects once on site.
- Price and manage project variations.
- Prepare subcontract orders and procurement packages.
- Complete Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and commercial reporting for live projects.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Assist with maintaining project profitability and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working as an Estimator, Estimating Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Worked as an Estimator with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
- Experience pricing refurbishment, maintenance or general construction projects would be highly advantageous.
- Good commercial awareness with an understanding of cost control and project financial management.
- Experience dealing with subcontractors, supplier enquiries and procurement.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative commercial team.
- Full UK Driving Licence (projects are generally within a 50-mile radius of the office).
