The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Agent to join a leading Civil Engineering division working on major infrastructure and construction projects in the Oxford area. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional to take ownership of site operations and support successful project delivery from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor Site Engineers and Section Engineers
  • Support the Project Manager in delivering the construction phase of projects
  • Assist with planning, programming, and resource allocation
  • Compile and review work package plans and management documentation
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
  • Work closely with the Planning team to maintain accurate programme information
  • Monitor contractual requirements and project progress
  • Manage subcontractors and supplier relationships effectively
  • Liaise with commercial teams to ensure accurate project records and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety procedures and site standards
  • Chair and attend weekly and monthly site meetings
  • Prepare daily activity briefings and maintain site diaries
  • Support Quality and Environmental management processes on site
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with specifications
  • Assist with project close-out and final reporting

Essential

  • Strong work ethic
  • Previous experience in a similar Site Agent role
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Technically competent within Civil Engineering projects
  • Excellent knowledge of NEC contracts
  • HNC or higher qualification in Civil Engineering

Desirable

  • Experience working on Highway Schemes
  • Experience managing one site or a section of a larger site as part of a wider team
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • CPCS Appointed Person for Lifting trained
  • Temporary Works Coordinator trained
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD

Health & Safety - Essential

  • Understanding of duties and responsibilities regarding current Health & Safety / CDM legislation
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid at Work
