Linscare Limited are currently looking for experienced Residential Childcare Officers to join a dedicated and forward-thinking Residential Childcare Service in Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people within a supportive and trauma-informed environment. The service provides a range of specialist residential settings including children’s homes, short breaks services, emergency placements, supported accommodation for older young people, and secure care provisions.
The Role
You will provide high-quality care and support to children and young people, helping them feel safe, valued, and supported to achieve positive outcomes. You will work as part of a multi-agency team promoting safeguarding, emotional wellbeing, education, independence, and positive routines.
Duties Include:
- Providing day-to-day care and emotional support
- Building positive and trusting relationships
- Supporting behaviour management and safeguarding
- Promoting education, activities, and independence
- Completing daily records and contributing to care planning
- Working alongside social workers, CAMHS, education, and health professionals
- Advocating for children and ensuring their voices are heard
Shift Patterns
Flexibility is essential as shifts include:
- Early shifts (7am–3pm)
- Late shifts (2pm–10pm)
- Night shifts / Waking nights
- Sleep-ins (where required)

Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years’ residential childcare experience
- Full UK manual driving licence
- Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred)
- Ability to relocate to Jersey for the duration of the contract

- Medication Administration Training
- First Aid Qualification
- Experience working within trauma-informed services
