We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join a busy and supportive local authority team in Huyton, Merseyside. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner looking to make a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable children, families, or adults while working within a collaborative and professional environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a varied caseload, undertaking assessments, developing effective support plans, and working closely with partner agencies to deliver high-quality social work services.
Key Responsibilities
- Needs Assessments: Undertake comprehensive assessments of service users' practical, emotional, social, and care needs. Identify risks, strengths, and required interventions to support positive outcomes.
- Safeguarding: Protect vulnerable children, young people, and adults from harm, abuse, and neglect. Investigate safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action in accordance with legislation, policy, and procedures.
- Care Planning: Develop, implement, and review person-centred care and support plans. Promote independence, wellbeing, and long-term positive outcomes.
- Multi-Agency Working: Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, police, education providers, housing services, and other key partners. Attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings, reviews, and case conferences.
- Advocacy and Support: Advocate for the rights and needs of service users. Provide practical guidance and emotional support through challenging life situations and transitions.
- Reporting and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely case records. Prepare reports for court proceedings, reviews, and safeguarding meetings. Participate in regular supervision and case discussions.

Qualifications and Requirements
- BA/BSc in Social Work or an approved postgraduate Social Work qualification.
- Current registration with Social Work England.

- Previous experience within Children's or Adult Social Care services.
- Full understanding of relevant legislation, including:
- The Children Act 1989
- Care Act 2014
- Human Rights Act 1998
- Relevant safeguarding frameworks and statutory guidance
