Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Revenues & Benefits to lead a high-performing service responsible for Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefits, Local Council Tax Support and Corporate Fraud. This is a key leadership role with a strong focus on collection fund performance, service transformation, policy development and ensuring compliance across all Revenues & Benefits functions. You will act as the Council's lead expert, providing strategic advice to senior leaders while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A proven track record of working at a senior level within a Revenues & Benefits service.
  • Strong knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates, Benefits and associated legislation.
  • Experience leading service improvement and transformation programmes.
  • A solid understanding of how digital solutions can enhance service delivery and customer outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • The resilience and drive to deliver results in a fast-paced local government environment.

Rate: £550 per day Umbrella
