Purpose of the Role
My client is looking for a Specialist Neuro Operations Manager who will provide strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of neuro rehabilitation services. The postholder will ensure the delivery of exceptional, person-centred care while driving performance in quality, occupancy, financial management, and compliance. The role requires a strong operational leader with proven experience in neuro rehabilitation and a track record of achieving measurable results.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Provide effective operational management across multiple neuro rehabilitation services.
 - Ensure consistent delivery of safe, high-quality, and person-centred care.
 - Monitor daily service performance and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
 - Support service managers to achieve operational, clinical, and business performance targets.
 - Conduct regular service reviews, audits, and performance meetings to identify and implement improvements.
 
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all services meet or exceed CQC regulatory requirements.
 - Lead and support services to achieve and sustain ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ CQC ratings.
 - Oversee quality governance processes, ensuring timely investigation and resolution of issues.
 - Embed a culture of continuous learning and improvement, with robust reporting and accountability mechanisms.
 
Occupancy & Business Development
- Drive and sustain high occupancy levels across services.
 - Proactively manage referral pipelines and relationships with commissioners, case managers, and external professionals.
 - Analyse occupancy trends and referral data to inform targeted marketing and service development strategies.
 - Contribute to business growth through new service opportunities and reputation-building activities.
 
Financial Management
- Take full responsibility for service budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability.
 - Monitor income, expenditure, and financial performance against agreed targets.
 - Support service managers with accurate forecasting and budget planning.
 - Ensure financial decisions are aligned with service quality and organisational priorities.
 
Leadership & People Management
- Provide strong, visible, and supportive leadership to service managers and multidisciplinary teams.
 - Promote a culture of high performance, accountability, and professional development.
 - Lead recruitment, onboarding, and appraisal processes for key operational staff.
 - Ensure effective communication, collaboration, and engagement across services.
 
Strategic Contribution
- Contribute to the wider operational strategy and long-term business planning.
 - Support innovation and continuous improvement in neuro rehabilitation delivery.
 - Represent the organisation at professional forums, networking events, and commissioning meetings.
 
Experience:
- Significant experience in operations or service management within neuro rehabilitation or specialist healthcare.
 - Experience within a private healthcare organisation.
 - Proven record of achieving and maintaining ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ CQC ratings.
 - Experience managing regional or multi-site operations.
 - Strong background in occupancy and referral management.
 - Experience in service expansion or new site mobilisation.
 - Demonstrated financial and budgetary management success.
 - Working knowledge of contract negotiation with commissioners.
