Senior Theatre Practitioner

Up to £45,760

South West London

Responsibilities:

  • Develop your supervision/training skills of junior staff, theatre list management skills, budgetary management and managerial accountability skills under the supervision of the Theatre Manager.
  • Follow hospital guidelines and protocols as you promote best evidence-based practice, always acting as the patient's advocate.
  • Ensure the safe custody of medication and controlled drugs and that patient care areas are safe, fit for purpose and effectively maintained.
  • Undertake mandatory surgical checks prior to the start of the procedure, during and pre-wound closure.
  • Plan and take the lead to facilitate the running of theatre lists and provide management accountability in the absence of a clinical lead under the supervision of Theatre Manager.

Requirements for this role:

  • First level Registered Nurse/HCPC registered ODP.
  • SFA desirable, experienced in ENT essential.
  • Post registration education in a relevant specialty, Degree in Healthcare or 5+ years equivalent experience.
  • Expert scrub nurse with post qualification scrub experience in a range of surgical specialties.
  • Strong patient-centred approach.
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity and ethics in the workplace.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
