Senior Occupational Therapist – Mental Health
Location: York | Hours: 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (30-minute break) | Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Full time, permanent role for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a medium secure hospital caring for adult patients (18+) with mental illness, personality disorder and mild to moderate learning disability. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions to detained males within the LD/ASD Service Line, with a focus on learning disabilities and neurodiversity.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy input into risk assessment and risk management within a medium secure setting.
- Deliver specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team for detained patients in the LD/ASD Service Line.
- Utilise standardised clinical tools based on the Model of Human Occupation where appropriate, applying specialist knowledge.
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Occupational Therapist (Band 6 level) with experience in mental health settings.
- Interest or experience in working with individuals with learning disabilities and neurodiversity.
- Experience working in secure/heavily regulated environments is desirable.
