An amazing job opportunity has arisen for a committed Mental Health Nurse to work in an exceptional hospital based in Ayr, South Ayrshire. This hospital provides acute adult mental health services within a low Secure Service, for patients with personality disorders.

As a Nurse you will be working for one of the UK's leading health care providers. You will be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills when liaising with members of the multi-disciplinary team, external agencies and organisations, patients and relatives. You should also have a good working knowledge of the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007. Experience in a related environment is essential.

Your key duties include:

  • Provide a high standard of care to people with mental illness and personality disorder
  • Develop therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement
  • Contribute to patient assessments, compiling a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitoring patient progress
  • Lead shifts as well as mentoring and supporting student nurses and other members of the team
  • Follow all codes of conduct, standards and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice
