Overview
We are currently supporting a leading organisation in their search for a Storage Infrastructure Engineer to join an established Platform team. This role will focus on supporting and maintaining critical storage infrastructure within a complex, high-pressure production environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in troubleshooting production incidents, delivering technical storage tasks, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, escalating where necessary
- Perform technical tasks including patching, storage allocation, scripting, and backup configuration
- Manage and prioritise workload to ensure high-priority issues are addressed promptly
- Support cluster and storage environments across multiple platforms
- Contribute to process improvements and technical documentation
- Collaborate with team members and provide guidance where needed
Must-Have Skills (Non-Negotiable)
- Strong experience with Linux command line technologies
- Proven experience with cluster management within Spectrum Scale
- Solid understanding of Spectrum Scale protocols (GPFS, NFS, SMB) in active-active topology
Essential Technical Skills
- Experience with IBM Flash Systems, including replication (Global Mirror, Metro Mirror, Change Volumes)
- Exposure to Spectrum Scale (GPFS) and distributed storage environments
- Understanding of cluster management in Oracle and ESXi environments
- Experience provisioning and managing storage across IBM storage estate
- Familiarity with GKLM / SKLM (key lifecycle management)
- Experience using ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools
- Strong awareness of system availability and impact of changes
Nice to Have
- Exposure to AWS Cloud and/or IBM Cloud environments
- Understanding of VMware technologies (vSphere, vRealize)
- Knowledge of Cisco UCS and HPE infrastructure
- Experience working in Agile environments
- General understanding of virtualisation architectures

- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure or storage engineering roles
