Role Summary
Client is seeking a highly experienced Enterprise Database Platform Architect & Transformation Advisor to provide strategic, part-time advisory services for the modernization of its database ecosystem across on-premises and cloud environments. This role is strategic and advisory, focusing on enterprise database architecture, performance optimization, and transformation guidance, rather than day-to-day operational DBA tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct enterprise database current state assessment and define target architecture.
- Provide guidance on performance tuning, reliability, and configuration optimization.
- Define cloud and hybrid transformation strategies and develop migration roadmaps.
- Advise on migration governance and post-migration optimization.
- Design unified monitoring and observability architectures.
- Establish database governance, standards, and KPI/SLA frameworks.
- Prepare strategic advisory documents, executive reports, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Deliver training and executive briefings to internal teams.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of enterprise database architecture experience.
- Experience in mission-critical, large-scale environments.
- Expertise in cloud and hybrid database transformations including on-premises to cloud migration (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong knowledge of high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and resiliency architectures.
- Proven capability in designing database governance frameworks.
- Experience providing executive-level advisory to C-suite leadership.
- Strong documentation and knowledge transfer skills.
