Our North Sea client seeks Siemens Basic Internal Blade Inspectors for a campaign starting in early March. The following experience is required:

  • Basic Level Repair: Focus on non-structural repairs and surface-level faults.
  • Duties: Assess laminate damage, work with epoxy resins, and perform minor trailing edge repairs.
  • Prerequisites: HSE, experience working with Epoxy and Isocyanates.
  • Your duties will include:
  • Visual Assessment: Conduct thorough internal reviews of all blade quadrants, checking surfaces for signs of micro-cracks, chips, or delamination.
  • Structural Integrity Checks: Identify internal structural issues such as debonding of the web, laminate voids, and moisture accumulation.
  • Lightning Protection System (LPS) Testing: Inspect internal LPS circuitry to detect corrosion, open circuits, or damage from lightning penetration.
  • Technical Documentation: Record findings through high-resolution photography and detailed text, often producing standardised PDF reports for each individual blade.
  • NDT: Use advanced tools like ultrasonic devices, borescopes, and tap testing to evaluate the soundness of composite materials.
  • Demarking Findings: Physically mark identified defects within the blade to guide subsequent repair teams.

Key Skills & Requirements:

  • Certifications: Siemens Level B and Valid GWO certification, including Working at Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling, and Fire Awareness.
  • Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to health and safety protocols (e.g., HSE standards, IRATA for rope access).
