We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled In-House Gaffer to support creatively on productions for some of the world’s most recognised brands. This role is intrinsic to delivering exceptional lighting across film and photography while helping drive technical innovation, efficiency, and best practice.

The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with a meticulous, solutions-focused approach to studio operations, equipment management, and on-set creativity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lighting & Production: Collaborate closely with Directors, DPs, Photographers, Producers, and Creative teams to prepare lighting setups for productions, with a strong focus on corporate and advertising. Deliver consistent, high-quality lighting across a wide range of shooting scenarios, from studio-based productions to location work. Demonstrate a strong understanding of lighting for photography as well as motion, ensuring seamless crossover between disciplines.
  • Technical Expertise & Innovation: Stay up to date with emerging lighting techniques, technologies, and equipment. Proactively introduce relevant innovations to help elevate ways of working. Consult on lighting approaches, power requirements, rigging solutions, and technical feasibility during pre-production. Act as a technical authority on set, ensuring safe, efficient, and industry-leading lighting practices.
  • Kit & Studio Management: Take ownership of production equipment, ensuring all kit is meticulously maintained, prepared, tested, and stored. Oversee the organisation and day-to-day running of the studio and kit rooms. Implement and refine systems for inventory tracking, maintenance schedules and equipment readiness. Liaise with suppliers and rental houses when additional equipment is required.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve workflows and efficiencies within the running of the studio. Suggest and help implement improvements to lighting setups, kit usage, storage, and prep processes. Support the ongoing development of studio standards and best practices.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Gaffer within corporate, advertising, or branded content environments.
  • Strong understanding of lighting for both film and photography.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with professional lighting equipment, power distribution, and rigging.
  • In-depth knowledge of current and emerging lighting technologies and techniques.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and meticulous with equipment care and preparation.
  • Confident communicator, able to collaborate effectively with creative and technical teams.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to suggest and implement operational improvements.
  • Strong awareness of on-set safety standards and best practice.
Desirable
  • Experience working within an in-house or studio-based production company.
  • Familiarity with large-scale brand productions and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Mentoring or leadership experience within lighting or technical teams.
