Location: Swindon

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (5 x 8‑hour shifts)

Weekend rota: 1:8 weekends with days off the following week

Are you an experienced RVN looking to take the next step in your leadership career? We are seeking a confident and proactive Lead RVN to support and develop a dedicated nursing team while driving high clinical standards within our referral hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a team, influence service development, and play a key role in shaping a growing department. Dentistry is a key part of this role, making it ideal for someone with an existing interest in dentistry or an RVN looking to develop specialist skills within this area.

You will lead a team of four RVNs and one technician, providing day‑to‑day guidance while remaining actively involved in clinical nursing.

The Role

  • Lead and support a team of four RVNs and one technician.
  • Coordinate daily workflow and maintain efficient patient flow.
  • Promote excellent patient care and clinical standards.
  • Support and mentor colleagues, identifying development opportunities.
  • Work closely with clinicians, Team Leaders and HoNS.
  • Represent the department at leadership meetings and contribute to service improvement projects.
  • Support the continued growth and development of the dentistry service.

About You

  • At least 2 years' post‑qualification experience.
  • Leadership experience or the ambition to step into a leadership role.
  • Confidence with anaesthesia.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach.
  • A passion for patient care and team development.
  • An interest in dentistry.
  • Referral dentistry experience is desirable but not essential.
