You will work alongside a dedicated veterinary nurse throughout your shift, delivering high-quality emergency and urgent care to our patients during evenings and overnight hours.

Why join us?

  • Modern 24-hour hospital: Our recently refurbished practice provides round-the-clock emergency care and exceptional case follow-through. We are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools including endoscopy, ultrasound, digital X-ray, multi-parameter monitoring systems, and an internal laboratory with advanced testing capabilities to support confident clinical decision-making.
  • Excellent surgical facilities: We are fully equipped to perform a wide range of procedures, from routine neutering and exploratory laparotomies to orthopaedic surgeries. The practice features dedicated surgical theatres, a dental suite, and separate dog, cat, and exotic wards to ensure stress-free hospitalisation.
  • Outstanding work-life balance: Enjoy 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota, giving you extended time away from work while maintaining continuity of care during your working week.
  • Supportive and experienced team: We are a well-established primary care veterinary practice with 15 experienced vets, committed to delivering exceptional patient care. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive and collaborative environment where every team member can thrive.

The 608 Vets team is well established with a strong reputation for compassionate care and excellent client service. Our large and supportive team includes 16 vets, 30 nursing associates, and 10 administrative colleagues, supported by our Clinical Director, two Head Vets, Clinical Nursing Manager, and Practice Manager. We are passionate about professional development and actively support further study - with six of our vets currently working towards certificates, including surgery, internal medicine, and exotics.

Reporting to the Head Vet, you will work from our main 24-hour hospital, providing high standards of clinical care for 608 Vets clients through thorough examination, medical treatment, and surgical intervention where required. For overnight comfort, dedicated bedrooms are available for each overnight team member, allowing rest during quieter periods of the shift.
