We are looking for an RVN who would like to join our ophthalmology-specific clinic in Sutton Weaver, Cheshire. You do not need to have ophthalmology experience to be considered as you will have a fully comprehensive induction and training.
Your role and responsibilities:
- Provision of patient care by undertaking all general nursing duties within the practice.
- Clinical duties include admission/discharge of patients, provision of perioperative medications, assistance in the induction of anaesthesia, monitoring of anaesthesia, preparing patients for surgery, theatre assistance, recovery of patients, instrument cleaning and care.
This role offers an excellent work/life balance working 4 days per week 8.00am to 6.30pm with every Tuesday off. 1:8 weekends on-call (only called in if needed by the ophthalmologist). Generous OOH payments per case.
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be used to working under pressure effectively with high attention to detail and be in a fast-paced environment. Understanding on use of capnography and multiparameter monitors (NIBP, IVPB, capnography, ECG) ventilators and experience in referral practice preferable.
We are looking for someone to make an important contribution to our gold standard delivery of patient care.
Hours:
- 40 hours per week with OOH on call rota (generous OOH payments).
- 4 days per week 8.00am to 6.30pm with every Tuesday off.

About us:
Eye Vet is a dedicated Ophthalmology referral clinic in Sutton Weaver, Cheshire. We are conveniently located just off the M56 and close to Liverpool, Manchester and North Wales. Our close-knit team of veterinary ophthalmologists, nurses, anesthetists and client care are passionate about the ophthalmic treatment we provide, and we benefit from multi-disciplinary support from nearby Northwest Veterinary Specialists and the Liverpool University small animal teaching hospital.
As well as treating patients referred by primary-care veterinary practices all over the North West of England and North Wales, we also treat a variety of animals off-site, including Chester Zoo. Our ophthalmologists share their expertise through clinical teaching and placements for final year students from the university.
