Salary: £12.84 per hour

Location: Spinney Vets, Wootton Fields and Spinney Vets Kettering Road

Job Type: Permanent, Part‑time

Hours: 19.5 hours per week – Various weekday shifts, plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 8.30 am‑12.30 pm on a rota.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Manage and deal with appointment bookings in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Support the business with a range of administrative duties.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Dispense medication.
  • Work well in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high customer service standards.
  • Show awareness of financial control within the practice.
  • Be ready to discuss financial matters with clients.
  • Manage the practice diary to ensure efficient patient bookings.
  • Maintain the highest professional and ethical standards.
  • Keep communication, both verbal and written, at a high standard.
  • Keep the consultation and waiting areas clean and tidy throughout the day.
  • Serve clients and accept payments, advising customers on products and services.
  • Perform banking duties.

Other Duties

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the practice and working environment.
  • Undertake other activities as required.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in a customer‑facing role.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.
  • Previous veterinary experience desirable but not essential.
  • Proactive and positive mindset.
  • Adaptability to learn a new system if no prior experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Highly motivated to provide excellent service to clients, the practice and referral clinics.
  • Team player and positive team member.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace under pressure while managing own workload.
  • Professional approach to work.
  • Strong administrative, organisational and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient IT skills – Microsoft (Outlook, Word and Excel, Teams).
