You’ll be primarily based in Whittlesford, supported by an experienced and collaborative team, with one day per week in Royston. That Royston day gives you something a little different: the opportunity to take ownership of your caseload, structure your day how you like, and build confidence in a sole charge setting, all while having the reassurance of full support and 24‑hour hospital backup.

Why join us?

  • 4-day week with a consistent, predictable rota

  • 70% consults / 30% surgery with 1–2 dedicated ops days per week
  • One day per week sole charge at Royston, autonomy with full support
  • Strong and varied caseload including dentistry, surgery and orthopaedics
  • Advanced facilities including a Storz laparoscopic tower, imaging suite, and high-spec IM3 dental suite
  • Experienced team including certificate holders across multiple disciplines
  • Well-structured, organised practice that supports good clinical work
  • Leadership team focused on openness, wellbeing, and continuous improvement
  • Part of the wider Linnaeus network with excellent development opportunities

The team and practice Village Vet Whittlesford is a modern, purpose‑built practice, completed in 2012, designed to support high‑quality clinical care alongside a genuinely positive working environment. The building is a real highlight: spacious, open, filled with natural light, and with high ceilings and large glass‑fronted areas that create a calm, airy feel throughout. It’s a thoughtfully designed space that makes a noticeable difference to your day‑to‑day work.

Located next to Whittlesford Parkway station, the practice is under 15 minutes from Cambridge, with easy access to London and Stansted Airport, while still maintaining a strong local, community focus. Clinically, the practice is exceptionally well equipped and offers a varied and rewarding caseload. Facilities include:

  • Dedicated IM3 dental suite with a strong and consistent dental caseload
  • Storz laparoscopic tower for minimally invasive procedures
  • Digital imaging and on‑site laboratory
  • Two operating theatres and a central prep area
  • Separate dog, cat, and isolation wards

The client base supports a high standard of care, giving you the opportunity to work cases up properly and build strong client relationships. Alongside these strong clinical foundations, there is a clear focus on improving the day‑to‑day experience for the team, with protected lunch breaks, Fika and tea mornings, and a humble approach to listening, sharing feedback, and evolving together.

One day per week will be spent in Royston, a well‑connected market town on the Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire border. This smaller branch offers autonomy, the chance to take sole charge of your caseload, and the excitement of being part of a practice currently undergoing refurbishment. Full support from the wider team and our 24‑hour Milton hospital ensures you’ll never feel on your own.
