An OOH ward RVN position has opened at Paragon Veterinary Referrals, Paragon Park, Wakefield. This is a full-time position working 3.30pm - 12am Monday - Friday, with 1 in 7 on call Saturday night shifts.
Paragon Veterinary Referrals offers an extensive range of multi-disciplinary clinical services, facilities, and equipment to first opinion vets in Yorkshire and beyond. It is home to a team of dedicated veterinary surgeons and highly skilled veterinary nurses who provide outstanding treatment and care for patients and high standards of service to owners and referring vets. We treat clients and patients with compassion, respect, and care. Our medical facilities are among the best in the UK, designed for maximum patient comfort and infection control with state‑of‑the‑art equipment, and 24/7, 365 days a year continuous patient care.
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and organised RVN to work within the inpatient care setting, including medical and surgical wards and cattery. The ideal candidate will be passionate, positive, and able to work under pressure. The RVN should be proactive, able to manage time effectively and work within a team. This opportunity would suit an RVN who enjoys all aspects of ward nursing, including triaging patients, managing emergencies, and providing intensive care to canine and feline patients. The candidate would enjoy working in a busy environment, within a small team.
Key duties will include:
- Creating and delivering nursing care plans to numerous inpatients
- Nursing intensive and critical patients
- Performing handover to the team between shifts
- Working as part of a team
- Teaching and sharing knowledge
- Infection Control
Previous experience of nursing within an intensive care unit setting is desirable, but not essential.
