Job Title: Mixed Veterinary Surgeon (SA 60%, LA 30%, EQ 10%)

Salary: £40,000-55,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus relocation

Location: Hawick, Scotland

Job Type: Permanent full-time or Part-time

Hours: 25 hours (3 days)
Evening surgery ends at 6pm, 1 in 5 weekends with Monday off, 1 night/week on call. (On call support available if needed)

Your role and responsibilities

Your role would be a varied one with an interesting caseload, no two days are the same! There is the room for special interests which would be encouraged and supported. Your days will include scope to pursue individual specialisation. We have a great rapport with our clients some of whom have been coming to us for many years.

Good work life balance is important to us and there are lots to enjoy in your spare time being based in the traditional Borders town of Hawick, amongst stunning surroundings with easy access to great walking, biking and many outdoor activities. We have the added bonus of being just over a 60 minutes’ drive to Edinburgh/Newcastle/Carlisle too.

About us

Hawick Veterinary Practice is a long established and successful mixed practice located in the beautiful and unspoiled Scottish Borders. We pride ourselves on our enthusiasm and forward thinking, and we ensure we are always looking for new ways to modernise. The practice is RCVS PSS Core standard (and aiming for GP) and we have recently attained an ISFM Gold award. We are proud holders of the Bronze iiE Sustainability award.

We are a purpose-built, RCVS accredited practice that provides excellent care for small animals, farm animals and equines in the rural town of Hawick, Roxburghshire, and became a member of Linnaeus in 2018. Hawick is approximately one hour from Edinburgh, Carlisle and Newcastle, and is one of the biggest towns in the little-known Scottish Borders. Recent significant investment has allowed us to improve our facilities and expand our services to provide a high-quality progressive working environment for our loyal team. We strive to provide excellent care for every patient large or small with a superior personal customer experience.

We are proud of our well-equipped surgery with multiparameter monitoring for anaesthesia, \’Bair\’ hugger , ultrasound, xray, dental xray etc.
