Bay Vets is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our friendly and supportive small animal team based primarily at our Lancaster surgery. Our team includes 15 vets, 24 RVNs and 7 patient care assistants, working collaboratively across four practices located close to the beautiful Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated RVN who enjoys working as part of a busy, supportive team and is passionate about delivering outstanding patient and client care. Reporting to the Lead Veterinary Nurse, you will play an important role in maintaining high clinical standards and ensuring patients receive excellent care throughout their time in practice.
Our practices offer a varied first opinion and referral caseload, including orthopaedics, spinal surgery, soft tissue surgery and medicine. With access to an in-house CT scanner, this role provides a great opportunity to develop and expand your nursing skills in a varied and rewarding clinical environment.
You will work closely with the veterinary and nursing teams to support the smooth running of the practice, assisting with patient care from admission through to discharge. The role will involve a mix of responsibilities including inpatient care, theatre nursing, consultations, and supporting diagnostic procedures.
We are looking for someone who is organised, compassionate, and a strong communicator, with a proactive approach to teamwork and patient care.
Working Pattern
- Part time: 30 hours per week
- Weekend rota: 1 in 5 weekends (shared fairly across the team)
- No out-of-hours: We have dedicated night nurses in place
