Salary: £13,879.43 per annum (26,437 FTE)

Job type: Permanent, full-time

Hours: 21 hours per week, Monday - Sunday, covering between 9am - 7pm.

We are currently looking for a friendly, enthusiastic individual who is passionate about animal care to join our Blantyre team as a Patient Care Assistant. The ideal candidate should be professional, confident and will strive to deliver the very best service for our patients and clients.

As a Patient Care Assistant, you will be trained in assisting the clinical teams to provide an optimal inpatient environment as well as aid in the smooth running of the practice. Under the guidance of our Vet Nurses and Vet Surgeons, you can expect to:

  • Assist with patient handling and restraint, ensuring a stress‑free approach.
  • Cleaning, disinfection and preparation of patient accommodation, maintaining infection control.
  • Assist with reception and client care, including answering the telephone, dealing with enquiries, booking procedures and taking payments.
  • Assist Veterinary Surgeons, Veterinary Nurses, and support staff where and when required.
  • Work and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, demonstrating reliability, adaptability, understanding and empathy.

Previous veterinary experience is preferred but not necessary; successful candidates will undergo an initial intense training programme. A driving licence is essential. Excellent communication, customer service and IT skills are required.
