About Us: Southfields Veterinary Specialists is a large multi-disciplinary veterinary hospital in Essex, UK, with diploma holders in multiple disciplines including oncology, radiation therapy, imaging, orthopaedics, soft tissue, anaesthesia, medicine, ophthalmology and exotics. It is located 30 minutes away from central London and close to beautiful countryside and sandy beaches. The hospital boasts transport links to Europe and beyond via Stansted, London City and Gatwick airports, as well as the Eurostar. It is a purpose‑built, 40,000 sq. ft. state‑of‑the‑art facility with 16 consulting rooms and new cross‑sectional imaging machines (Siemens Magnetom Sola 1.5T MRI and Siemens 64‑slice CT) and a Neurogen electrodiagnostic machine, including BAER and video EEG. A mobile C‑Arm and portable X‑ray machine are used in 4 of the 7 lead‑lined theatres. The oncology service uses a cutting‑edge linear accelerator and has strong case collaboration with the Neurology department.
You will be part of a team comprising 3 ECVN Diplomates, 2 residents in training, 1 neurology intern, and two neurology nurses.
Preferred Candidates: We prefer applicants who are European or American board‑certified Neurologists. Candidates who have completed an accredited residency are also welcome.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical services as a specialist consultant for exclusively neurological and neurosurgery referrals.
- Support and develop the Neurology team by supervising and teaching residents, interns, technicians and nurses.
- Work collaboratively with all other referral services and foster good relationships.
- Develop new neurosurgeries, ways of working and SOPs within our new centre.
- Demonstrate professional standards that advance patient care.
- Be an ambassador for the neurology team with clinical research.
