Southfields Veterinary Specialists are expanding their diplomate led imaging team further and have an additional opportunity for a board-certified, or board-eligible clinician in Diagnostic Imaging (European, American, RCVS or equivalent diploma).
The dedicated imaging team will shortly consist of three EBVS European Specialists in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, two experienced Diagnostic Imaging clinicians, a radiographer, four Diagnostic Imaging nurses and a dedicated Diagnostic Imaging patient care assistant.
Our new £16 million state-of-the-art complex is one of the largest veterinary referral centres in the UK and boasts some of the finest 24/7 facilities:
- Innovative cancer treatment facilities
- Full diagnostics suites
- 24/7 Emergency Referral Service
- Seven operating theatres, recovery suites and ICU including 14 consultation rooms
- 195 kennels including 171 for dogs and 24 for cats including a dedicated cat care team
Southfields is only approximately 30 minutes away from central London. It is well situated in Basildon, Essex and is a great location for people who enjoy city living or prefer the beautiful scenery of the Essex countryside.
We are very proud of our specially designed diagnostics suite featuring:
- High-field Siemens Magnetom Sola MRI scanner (1.5 Tesla)
- Multislice Siemens Somatom go.all CT scanner (64-slice configuration)
- Combined digital radiography and fluoroscopy
- Fluoroscopy unit for contrast studies and interventional procedures (C-Arm)
- Video Endoscopy
- Imaging reading room
- Room for patient preparation and recovery
- X-ray and ultrasound facilities include:
- Two X-ray rooms
- Mobile X-ray
- Two ultrasound rooms
- Cardiology room with cardiology Vivid E95 ultrasound machine
- Portable ultrasound for critical patients
Your daily duties will include:
- Providing clinical services as a Diagnostic Imaging consultant
- The opportunity to help grow and develop the Diagnostic Imaging team at Southfields
- Innovating and optimizing service delivery
- Working collaboratively and fostering good relationships with all other services
- Undertaking supervision of residents and interns
- Demonstrating professional standards that will advance patient care within this amazing facility
