An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person and animal lover to join the St Anne's nursing team! We are the largest veterinary practice within the local area, employing 13 vets and 16 members of nursing staff. We would like to welcome someone into our team to assist us in providing exemplary care to our patients, whether they be staying with us for a day procedure or to nurse them back to health. There is an embedded culture of learning and teaching within our practice and therefore ample opportunities for career progression if desired.
The successful applicant will join a team of three established Patient Care Assistants, working within a range of areas within practice, including wards, laboratory and theatre. Roles within these areas will include:
- Providing husbandry to small animal inpatients
- Maintaining and implementing strict infection control practices
- Preparing the surgical environment for use
- Assisting the veterinary team during surgical procedures to ensure the efficient running of the theatre list
- Accurately processing laboratory samples
- Client-facing and reception work

Initiative and communicative skills are imperative as our days are fast-paced, physical and ever changing. It is expected that significant work experience within an animal care setting has been gained, with veterinary practice experience an advantage.
