Your role and responsibilities
Southfields Veterinary Specialists are recruiting a talented nurse to support the existing Wards team in providing exceptional care to our patients. You will work as part of a large, multi‑disciplinary team consisting of consultants, residents, interns, nurses and patient care assistants. You will see a large and varied referral and emergency caseload, allowing you to develop your career whilst gaining experience in cases from all disciplines. This is a rewarding and challenging role that will require teamwork and dedication to the service and its patients.
As a Ward RVN in our specialist veterinary hospital, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional inpatient care. You will prioritise and provide timely nursing support, develop tailored care plans alongside our consultants, and ensure seamless case handovers and communication across all disciplines. You will monitor and assist patients through recovery, delivering both specialist and emergency care. This role offers the opportunity to rotate through our high‑dependency ward, managing complex and critical cases such as brain tumours, seizures, diabetic ketoacidosis, transfusions and septic patients. To thrive in this position, you need excellent clinical skills, strong communication, the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, and a calm, organised approach under pressure.
