Do you still enjoy being hands-on and clinical, but get the most satisfaction from helping other vets grow? We’re looking for a senior vet who enjoys sharing experience, supporting younger colleagues and being part of a team that talks things through properly.

The Role

This is a senior, hands-on clinical role with a strong focus on mentoring and support. You’ll have a varied small animal caseload while playing an important role in supporting junior vets and recent graduates as they build confidence and develop their skills. Mentoring here is part of everyday practice. We protect time for it and take it seriously. We have dedicated case discussions every two weeks and plenty of informal opportunities to talk cases, ask questions and learn together.

We really believe in giving back and supporting all vets, whatever stage they’re at. We’re keen to work together as a team, learn from each other and share experience openly. Everyone has a voice here, and ideas don’t just get heard, they get tried. There’s no pressure to step away from clinical work or into heavy management. This role is about being a supportive presence, leading by example and helping create an environment where people feel comfortable asking for help.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing high-quality clinical care in consultations, surgery and inpatient work
  • Mentoring and supporting less experienced vets day-to-day
  • Taking part in protected mentoring time and two-weekly case discussions
  • Working collaboratively with the wider vet and nursing team
  • Sharing ideas and helping shape how we work as a practice
  • Supporting a positive, open and inclusive team culture

Who We’re Looking For

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with solid small animal experience
  • Enjoys teamwork, mentoring and supporting others
  • Approachable, patient and happy sharing knowledge
  • Confident clinically, without needing to be perfect
  • Someone who values learning together rather than working alone

What We Offer

  • Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience
  • Five weeks holiday plus bank holidays and birthday leave
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • Fully funded CPD, including certificates
  • Wide range of Linnaeus online CPD
  • Genuine support for development and leadership
  • Staff discounts
  • Life assurance
  • Enhanced sickness pay
  • Enhanced equal family leave
  • Electric car salary sacrifice scheme
  • Employer pension contribution
  • Wellbeing and Support
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Mental Health First Aiders within the practice
  • Eye care vouchers
  • Free annual flu jab
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Referral reward scheme
