Location: Village Vet Highgate

Hours: Full Time Rota is 8 hour shifts, 8am-4.30pm, 9.30-6pm or an 11-7.30pm.

Village Vet Highgate is a busy, well-established first opinion practice seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the team on a fixed-term maternity cover basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-performing, close-knit team delivering a wide range of clinical services while maintaining high standards of patient care. The practice is known for managing a varied and complex caseload in-house, supported by an experienced veterinary team and a collaborative working environment.

Overview

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional clinical care and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. Working alongside our veterinary surgeons, nursing team, and support staff, you will help ensure excellent patient outcomes and outstanding client service. This is a predominantly clinical role offering exposure to a varied caseload, including medical, surgical, and inpatient nursing.

Main Purpose & Goals

  • Deliver high standards of patient care through excellent clinical nursing
  • Support the veterinary team across a wide range of procedures and cases

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • Support vets with a wide range of procedures and cases
  • Provide inpatient care and monitoring
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care across a varied caseload
  • Assist with surgical procedures, dentals, and diagnostic workups
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Maintain accurate and thorough clinical records
  • Ensure high standards of patient welfare and infection control

Practice Support

  • Work collaboratively with RVNs, PCAs, vets, and reception teams
  • Support the smooth running of daily clinical operations
  • Assist with stock management and equipment maintenance
  • Contribute to maintaining high clinical and operational standards

Client Care

  • Deliver excellent client service and communication
  • Support the client journey from admission through to discharge
  • Provide clear updates, advice, and guidance to clients
  • Promote preventative healthcare and patient wellbeing

Team Structure

3 Vets, 2 RVNs, 1 PCA, 2 Receptionists, 1 Hydrotherapy Nurse. The team is highly collaborative, with a strong culture of mutual support across all departments.
