Job Type: Full time Permanent
Hours: 38 hours, 4 days a week. Hours are between 7.30am and midnight. Weekend work on a rota basis.
We are looking for a pro-active Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our fantastic team. PCAs work in all areas of practice, and it will be necessary to accept instruction from a variety of people. You will be responsible for:
- Preparing theatre for surgeries
- Cleaning and maintaining the quality of our instruments
- Assisting with patient care and husbandry
- Running in-house lab tests
- Packaging biological samples
- Assisting with the smooth running of the practice
Duties will also include, but are not limited to:
- Cleaning, disinfection and preparation of patient accommodation
- Actively maintaining the hospital and following infection control procedures, including sterilising and deep cleaning
- Assisting with reception and client care, including answering the telephone, dealing with enquiries, booking procedures and taking payments
- Assisting Veterinary Surgeons, Veterinary Nurses, and support staff where and when required
- Working and communicating effectively with colleagues and clients
- Demonstrating the ability to be reliable, adaptable, understanding and empathetic
