Garston Veterinary Group is looking for an experienced veterinary leader ready to take the next step in their career. As our Lead Clinical Director, you’ll guide clinical standards across a large and progressive practice, lead an exceptional team of 24 vets and 50+ nurses, and help shape the strategic direction of a well-established, forward-thinking veterinary group.
With advanced facilities, a 24/7 RCVS-accredited hospital, and a collaborative leadership team, this role offers the autonomy, scale, and support to truly make your mark.

- Quality Clinical Facilities - Across our surgeries you’ll find modern theatres & laparoscopic kit, digital x-ray, dental x-ray & ultrasound, full dental staging for every patient, laser therapy and orthopaedic surgery, isolation wards & well-equipped consult rooms, onsite laboratory, and a CT scanner at our Frome hospital.
- All branches ISFM Cat Friendly Clinics, with dedicated feline appointment blocks.
- On-going support from your Head of Region, Medical, HR, Central support and access to referral site support within the wider Linnaeus team.
The Team: Our vets meet monthly on Teams and come together quarterly for an in‑person breakfast meeting, giving all clinicians a voice in shaping our protocols and services. We’re passionate about clear communication, celebrating achievements, and encouraging regular feedback from the whole Garston team, something we believe is essential in the veterinary profession.
We are situated in a popular, accessible location - Based on the Somerset / Wiltshire border, we’re surrounded by local countryside yet close to Bath, The Cotswolds, Bristol, Salisbury, direct train links to London, Bath and Bristol, and the south coast (just an hour away). Who We’re Looking For: We’re seeking a Clinical Director who combines outstanding clinical ability with inspirational leadership. You will bring vision, drive and compassion to the role, helping us shape the future of our practice.
- Extensive clinical experience as an MRCVS with a minimum of 3+ years leading a practice or leadership in a multi-site practice.
- Experience at managing a budget, delivering finance performance, and KPIs.
- Clinical Leadership and Experience in coaching and mentoring.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Leadership and Line Management of Senior Leadership Team within the Business Unit.
- Inspirational Leadership: Ability to lead a team of associates with enthusiasm, setting the tone, and acting as a role model.
- Resilience & Adaptability: Capability to lead teams through rapid change, and high-pressure situations.
