Overview
Lead Veterinary Surgeon – Full time (40 hours per week) – £65,000–£75,000 DOE per annum.
Reporting to the Practice Manager and leading clinical practice across the Rickmansworth and Chorleywood sites in Hertfordshire.

Location
Main office based at the Rickmansworth site with 1–2 days per week at the Chorleywood branch. Both sites are fully equipped and located in affluent, accessible areas near London.
Role
As Lead Vet you will support colleagues, encourage best practice, and help shape the clinical strategy across both sites.
You will maintain a high standard of patient and client care, contribute to clinical discussions and mentoring, and oversee a balanced and predictable rota.
Qualifications
- Qualified veterinary surgeon with a minimum of 8+ years UK experience (10+ preferred).
- Strong clinical confidence in both consulting and surgical cases.
- Ability to develop cases thoroughly and deliver high‑standard patient care.
- Team‑oriented and approachable leader who enjoys mentoring and sharing knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Desire to continue personal development while supporting the growth of others.
- Experience in small‑animal general practice – minimum 3 years UK background.
- Comfortable with both consults and surgery, including imaging or endoscopy skill progression.
- Value open case discussion and pride in high quality care.
- Full‑time availability within a structured rota.
