- Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (flexible working patterns can be discussed)
Hours: 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, with a mixture of early and late shifts between 7:30am and 7:00pm.
Weekend rota of approximately 1 in 4 weekends.
No regular out-of-hours requirement, although there is the opportunity to support if desired.
This is an exciting opportunity for a confident small animal all-rounder with at least two years of UK practice experience, who enjoys a varied caseload of both consultations and surgery.

About the Practice
Wicstun Vets is a thriving 24-hour veterinary practice and referral centre based primarily in Market Weighton, offering excellent continuity of care and access to an impressive range of facilities and expertise.
The team includes certificate holders in Orthopaedics, Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Diagnostic Imaging, and Cardiology.
Facilities include a CT scanner, Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Hydrotherapy suite, Laser therapy, Advanced orthopaedic services, a bespoke cat clinic with calming music and air conditioning, and an external Physio service.
As a 24-hour hospital, we receive referrals from nearby practices, allowing you to see a varied and interesting caseload while benefiting from the support of experienced colleagues and advanced diagnostic capabilities.
We actively encourage career development and can support progression into senior and leadership roles within the practice.
We also welcome discussions around any clinical interests or further qualifications you may wish to pursue.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical and surgical care for small animal patients in a busy veterinary hospital setting.
- Participate in a mixed caseload of consultations and routine surgery.
- Collaborate with a supportive team and contribute to clinical planning and patient care standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and pursue career progression opportunities.
- Support the practice’s 24-hour service model and patient care goals as needed.
What are we looking for?
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
- Minimum of 2 years of small animal practice experience.
- Confident all-round GP vet with experience in both consultations and routine surgery.
- Team player who enjoys collaborating and sharing knowledge.
- Passion for providing high-quality patient and client care.
- Interest in developing clinical skills and pursuing career progression opportunities.
