This role is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon with a surgical bias, offering exposure to a varied caseload of both routine and more advanced procedures within a friendly and supportive team. The practice provides a fully equipped environment with a dedicated theatre, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and modern diagnostic facilities, supported by a skilled nursing team delivering patient care. We provide a 24-hour emergency care service, 365 days a year, operated by our own vets across our brand-new Melton Hospital and Uppingham branch.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and advanced surgical procedures across 3–4 days per week.
- Contribute to consultations, medical workups, and both routine and non-routine surgeries in a collaborative team setting.
- Support and maintain high standards of patient care within a busy, compassionate practice environment.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to a culture of excellence in veterinary care.
Qualifications and Skills
- A strong interest in surgery; ideally holding or currently working towards a Surgical Certificate.
- A team player with a minimum of 4–5 years in a Small Animal Practice and RCVS registered (or eligible to register).
- Excellent communication skills, the ability to make informed clinical decisions, and a collaborative approach to client care.
