We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee our day-to-day accounting operations, manage month-end processes, and ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced SaaS environment and enjoys building efficient processes that scale. Please ensure you are eligible to work in the UK, as we are unable to accommodate sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
- Liaise with external auditors and support the year-end audit process.
- Oversee payroll accounting and managing related compliance filings (e.g PAYE, P11D) in collaboration with HR and external providers.
- Manage the day-to-day accounts payable and employee expense processes with support from junior staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate VAT filings and other tax compliance obligations.
- Implement and maintain internal controls and process improvements across the finance function, including documenting processes and accounting policies.
- Manage ad hoc projects (e.g cross functional process improvements, M&A integration, system implementation).
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Proficient (1–2 years) in NetSuite accounting software.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role (ideally for a remote team).
- Experience preparing statutory accounts under UK GAAP and/or IFRS.
- Familiarity with tax compliance (e.g VAT, corporation tax).
- Hands-on experience processing UK payroll and ensuring compliance with statutory filings and deadlines.
- A solid understanding of internal control design and operational efficiency.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical mindset, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Nice to have:
- SaaS or technology sector background.
- Exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency operations including international intercompany transactions and consolidated management reports and financial statements.
- Knowledge of ESG, R&D tax credits or transfer pricing.
