Role Overview
As Principal Electrical Component Engineer, you will manage electronic components, assess market trends, mitigate technical risks, and lead RF semiconductor and electronics specialism. You will collaborate with projects, engineering, procurement, and customer service teams, providing technical advice and reporting on risks. You will also support international collaboration, defining best practices, and ensuring adherence to agreed methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical advisement for a large stakeholder base across the business.
- Maintain expertise in specialist electronics and RF semiconductor domains; pass knowledge through training and design reviews.
- Provide technical advice, risk reporting, and supplier engagement aligned with MBDA needs.
- Support international collaboration, define best practice and manage methodology adoption.
- Deliver design reviews, training and other development activities to enable capability retention.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven knowledge in electronic component discipline – especially semiconductors.
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal).
- Self‑motivation, pro‑activeness, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Advantageous: experience in supply chain, electrical & electromechanical product knowledge.
- Understanding of REACH and RoHS regulations.

- Salary: Circa £48,000, depending on experience.
