Linkster Recruitment is proud to work with a successful and growing manufacturing client located in Measham, Swadlincote. We are looking for a skilled Metal Finishing Quality / Production Manager in a permanent capacity.

Quality Management and Production Management for a small team (approx. 5 staff). Focus on introducing more quality controls and process discipline to support growth.

Main Duties:

  • Quality Management: ensure metal finishing processes meet standards; oversee QA, process control, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement in plating, coating, anodising, or other finishing ops; maintain certifications; reduce defects.
  • QMS & Compliance: manage the Quality Management System (docs, audits, process controls); maintain ISO 9001 (and work toward AS9100); develop and monitor QC procedures; approve finished products; lead audits and CAPAs.
  • Technical & Maintenance: oversee calibration, testing, and analysis of baths/chemistries; control process parameters; plan and manage preventative maintenance; collaborate with production to reduce waste and improve consistency; advise on CAPEX.
  • Root Cause & CI: lead investigations of non-conformances; perform root-cause analysis (5 Whys, Ishikawa, PFMEA, SPC); implement CAPAs.
  • Leadership: manage and develop the production team; track KPIs; maintain skills matrix.
  • Customer & Supplier Liaison: be primary quality contact for customers; attend audits; work with suppliers on quality improvement; identify growth opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in metal finishing quality management (ideally hard and soft anodizing).
  • Strong understanding of surface finishing chemistry and process controls.
  • Experience with ISO-certified quality systems.
  • Ability to lead investigations and corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with quality tools.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance experience.

Benefits:

  • Full-time, permanent; 40 hours/week (7:30am-4:00pm, Mon-Fri) with potential for flexible/hybrid arrangements.
  • Salary up to £45,000 per year (dependent on experience).
