Linkster Recruitment is proud to work with a successful and growing manufacturing client located in Measham, Swadlincote. We are looking for a skilled Metal Finishing Quality / Production Manager in a permanent capacity.
Main Duties:
- Quality Management: ensure metal finishing processes meet standards; oversee QA, process control, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement in plating, coating, anodising, or other finishing ops; maintain certifications; reduce defects.
- QMS: maintain ISO 9001 (and work toward AS9100); develop and monitor QC procedures; approve finished products; lead audits and CAPAs.
- Technical control: process parameters; plan and manage preventative maintenance; collaborate with production to reduce waste and improve consistency; advise on CAPEX.
- Root Cause: perform root-cause analysis (5 Whys, Ishikawa, PFMEA, SPC); implement CAPAs.
- Leadership: manage and develop the production team; track KPIs; maintain skills matrix.
- Customer: attend audits; work with suppliers on quality improvement; identify growth opportunities.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in metal finishing quality management (ideally hard and soft anodizing).
- Strong understanding of surface finishing chemistry and process controls.
- Experience with ISO-certified quality systems.
- Ability to lead investigations and corrective actions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with quality tools.
- Planned Preventative Maintenance experience.
Benefits:
- Full-time, permanent; 40 hours/week (7:30am-4:00pm, Mon-Fri) with potential for flexible/hybrid arrangements.
