About Our Client: Join one of the UK’s leading timber processing companies as a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter. You’ll work in a fast-moving production environment, carrying out mechanical preventive maintenance, repairs, and improvements across the site to support production efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Main Duties: As a Maintenance Fitter, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out site and equipment maintenance to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintenance and repair of: chain conveyors, power hydraulics, pneumatics controls, pneumatic tools, bearings, couplings, gearboxes, chain drives, site LEV, and compressors.
- Supporting general factory mechanical maintenance and improvements to production output.
Requirements: We are looking for a Maintenance Fitter who:
- Has previous hands-on experience in a mechanical or maintenance role in an industrial setting.
- Possesses practical skills with basic hand and power tools.
- Has basic mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability.
- Is able to carry out repairs and maintenance tasks with attention to detail.
- Has a willingness to learn and follow step-by-step processes.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Has good communication skills.
- Maintains a flexible and reliable approach to work.
Benefits: Basic pay rate: £17.70 per hour, with overtime paid at 1.5x the rate on Saturdays and 1.75x the rate on Sundays. Ongoing training and development opportunities. Overtime is available.
