Linkster Recruitment is proud to work with a successful and growing manufacturing client located in Swadlincote. We are looking for a Stores Person to join their team in a permanent capacity.

Role summary:

  • Manage deliveries of all purchased items into stores, verifying necessity, quantity, documentation, and condition.
  • Safely operate and control forklift activities in a secure manner.
  • Enter all purchase order receipts accurately and promptly, ensuring correct BPCS store locations.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels.
  • Keep the Vendor Rating System up to date with accurate information.
  • Monitor and control consumables, coordinating with Purchasing and vendors.
  • Store purchased items safely and accessibly, ensuring full traceability and identification.
  • Organise documentation for auditable records, enabling easy retrieval via scanning and filing.
  • Ensure compliance with system requirements (ISO 9001/2000, Health & Safety, Risk Assessments, Environmental, ISO 14001, Investors in People, housekeeping).
  • Support Manufacturing with timely stock requisitions and accurate data entry.
  • Maintain an organised, auditable stock requisition system.
  • Review Certificates of Conformity for PO compliance.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
  • Ensure security and safety of bonded stores during working hours.
  • Drive continuous improvements in the stores function through visual management, housekeeping, and lean principles.
  • Prepare and maintain stores measurement reports and charts.
  • Adhere to departmental and company-wide procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience with BPCS or a similar MRP/ERP system.
  • Forklift truck qualification.
  • Ability to develop skills and expertise within the department.
  • Good verbal and written communication, with strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Physical fitness to perform the role.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and duties.

Additional Details:

  • Shifts: Permanent late shift, Monday to Friday, 13:00-20:40 (37.5 hours/week) or similar
  • Salary: £29,523 per year (£15.14/hour)
  • Overtime: 1.5x and 2.0x rates
  • Bonus: Quarterly bonuses of £125
