About Our Client: Join one of the UK’s leading timber processing companies as a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter. You’ll work in a fast-moving production environment, carrying out mechanical preventive maintenance, repairs, and improvements across the site to support production efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Main Duties: As a Maintenance Fitter, your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out site and equipment maintenance to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintenance and repair of: chain conveyors, power hydraulics, pneumatics controls, pneumatic tools, bearings, couplings, gearboxes, chain drives, site LEV, and compressors.
  • Supporting general factory mechanical maintenance and improvements to production output.

Requirements: We are looking for a Maintenance Fitter who:

  • Has previous hands-on experience in a mechanical or maintenance role in an industrial setting.
  • Possesses practical skills with basic hand and power tools.
  • Has basic mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability.
  • Is able to carry out repairs and maintenance tasks with attention to detail.
  • Has a willingness to learn and follow step-by-step processes.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Has good communication skills.
  • Maintains a flexible and reliable approach to work.

Benefits:

  • Basic pay rate: £19.50 per hour, with overtime paid at 1.5x the rate on Saturdays and 1.75x the rate on Sundays.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
