Our client in Nuneaton is seeking a permanent Laser Setter / Operator to join their team. The role focuses on operating and setting a fibre laser cutting machine to achieve excellent cut quality and throughput.
Shift and pay:
- Hours: Monday – Thursday, 07:15–17:45 (40 hours paid)
- Starting salary: £15–£16 per hour, depending on experience (approx. £33,280 per year)
- Permanent, full-time role (4-day a week)
- Opportunity for the right candidate to progress into a supervisory position in the future
Key responsibilities:
- Set up, operate and monitor a Bodor fibre laser cutting machine
- Configure laser parameters for various materials and thicknesses to optimise quality and speed
- Operate and set up a press brake machine as required
- Check part dimensions and quality; make adjustments as needed to meet specifications
Experience and requirements:
- Prior experience with laser cutting machines
- Basic understanding of programming and software used for laser cutting
- Proficient in operating and setting a press brake in addition to the laser
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances
- Team player with reliable punctuality and good communication
- Physically fit and able to handle equipment and materials
