Are you looking to join an exciting company who are currently expanding and operate nationally?
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our Procurement team. You will be responsible for developing and deploying a Sourcing Strategy and delivering savings for the assigned Categories while ensuring Operational Procurement excellence and continuity of supply, as part of a centralised purchasing function.
Your duties will include:
Lead cross-functional teams to develop and deliver category plans and strategies.
Develop new and alternate sources of supply.
Identify cost savings and improvement opportunities, reporting results to Head of Procurement and the wider business.
Drive all key strategic sourcing initiatives for the category.
Lead commercial negotiations for sourcing products and services, and work with the legal team to formalize the final contracts with vendors. Incorporate TCO, should-Cost and VE models where appropriate.
Calculate and present annual savings.
Ensure negotiations with suppliers safeguard continuity of supply, improve lead-times, control pricing, and mitigate risk.
Build internal relationships by spending time with stakeholders to understand their challenges and goals.
Work with and develop a set of procurement tools as necessary including electronic tendering, electronic signature, contract database, supplier catalogue portal and spend categorisation tools.
Work with the team to develop the spend cube. Support tactical and operational improvements in purchasing activity.
Work with suppliers to crystallize savings and build long-term relationships.
Lead strategic sourcing initiatives such as industry and market analysis & benchmarking, risk mitigation plans, supplier performance improvement plans
Monitor and report key procurement metrics such as savings delivered and volume of Purchase Orders.
Convert the company’s approved Purchase Requisitions into Purchase Orders.
Carry out any other purchasing duties as may arise from time to time.
Provide information, maintain records and carry out all duties in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
Enhance the image and reputation of the company whilst supporting its commercial interests.
Comply with good health and safety practice, all statutory requirements, company policies and standard procedures.
Skills:
Demonstrable experience of the sourcing process. Good technical purchasing knowledge
Demonstrable examples of project savings delivery including negotiated benefit and value chain engineering / business process improvement / total cost of ownership / should-cost / single source models.
Stakeholder engagement at senior level and project delivery. Ability to lead cross-functional projects.
Knowledge and understanding of the Purchase to Pay process and systems e.g. e-RFx.
Experience of developing and implementing new processes e.g. supplier catalogue, spend cube, contract database, vendor performance management, procurement dashboard systems
Experience / knowledge of procurement transformation.
Experience working with Legal around contract negotiation / signature and subsequent implementation and management of high value / high risk vendors during the life of a contract.
Experience and understanding of guiding, motivating, mentoring and developing staff members within the department.
CIPS qualified or working towards the qualification
Good level of experience with Excel
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000
Hours – Full time – 8.30am – 5.00pm Mon-Fri . 37.5hr week
