Foreman (Welding & Fabrication)
Cardiff

LINKS Recruitment Group are pleased to present a fantastic opportunity for a Supervisor/Foreman to play an integral part of the manufacturing/production team that offers the opportunity to work within a well established and growing manufacturing company that have multiple UK sites who are continuously growing and achieving company goals year on year.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all personnel within your team work safely / efficiently and are deployed in the correct areas to maximise outputs and quality in a cost-effective manner in accordance with targets.
Responsibilities:
- Report to take instruction and duties from and work closely with the Foreman and Production Manager on an hourly/daily basis as necessary.
- Manage personnel to ensure that all production is completed in line with the planned schedule to both to meet target completion dates and within the prescribed work target hours on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Assist in and make contributions to all shop floor improvement projects.
- Supervise and co-ordinate the work of shopfloor employees to ensure they work efficiently, diligently, and industriously throughout each shift.
- Lead and strongly promote team working amongst entire production team.
- Deal with any disciplinary or performance issues relating to individual employees and report events to the Foreman and Production Manager.
- Continually assess all performance, capabilities and competence of all operatives and provide guidance and coaching where required.
- Complete annual employee appraisals under the guidance of the Production Manager.
- Organise required manpower to work overtime to complete urgent tasks or achieve daily, weekly targets as required and approved by the Production Manager.
Desirable Skills:
- Background and Experience in welding or fabrication or similar
- MIG / TIG welding experience
- Any relevant qualifications are a bonus
- Experience/background working within a manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of Health and Safety
- Background in team leadership, supervisor, foreman role
Role: Permanent
Salary: £21.45ph basic (based on 40 hours)
Shifts: Day Shifts
Monday to Thursday 7:00am – 3:00pm
