Links Recruitment Group are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a large food manufacturing client, who has an established operation based in Gwent. Our client is rapidly expanding and are now seeking an experienced QC Technician to join their growing Quality team.

The Role:

  • Your role as QA Technician is to support the technical function and work closely with the production function to carry out routine quality assurance testing and monitoring throughout the manufacturing process and ensure information on product quality is continually fed back to the appropriate management teams.
  • You will also ensure that processes and products throughout the factory and leaving the site comply with agreed specifications with regard to quality and food safety.
  • Conduct GMP and other relevant audits, monitor and record relevant checks on all aspects of production, as directed by the Quality Manual.
  • Highlight any non-conformances which may occur and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Work with all departments to create effective working relationships in an environment of continual improvement.
  • Manage the intake process by completion of raw materials and Packaging inspections upon their arrival against the pre-defined Quality Standards and follow-up on any non-conformances.
  • Manage the sample submission process ie Customer/Nutritional samples (ensuring any products collected meet compliance to customer specifications) and Micro samples (following up any out of specification results with the appropriate investigation and corrective actions).
  • Manage micro and nutritional databases, reporting and escalating any issues.
  • Conduct routine environmental swabbing, hand swabbing and water sampling against schedule.
  • Conduct regular internal audits of the site’s operations in accordance with the Quality Management System (CCPs / Hygiene / documentation / GMP / foreign body / Glass /PPE / Allergen) and follow-up on completion corrective actions when required.
  • Conduct routine Traceability exercises and GMP audits in production areas.
  • Routine auditing of process control paperwork / supporting traceability exercises.
  • Conduct inspections on WIP material throughout the factory.
  • Manage stock control of retained samples and conduct daily EOL taste panels on finished product, record and report results.
  • Carry out Various tests and record results (PH testing, Allergen Testing, ERH Testing, Weight control, Calibration, Verification).
  • Investigation of customer complaints and ensure routing feedback to appropriate team via quality boards.
  • Filing of process paperwork, Update weekly reports.

Additional Information:

  • Hours of work – 40 hrs per week Mon- Fri – shift times are flexible.
  • 20 day hols + 8 Bank Holidays (this increases with service).
  • 6 Month probationary period.
  • Reporting to Operations Manager.
  • Auto Enrolment Pension Scheme after 12 weeks.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Evidence of good problem solving, decision making.
  • Competent testing and traceability skills.
  • The ability to complete administrative work.
  • Ability to perform quality checks/ judge non-conformance’s and advise corrective actions.
  • Basic computer skills.

Desirable:

  • Food hygiene certificate – Intermediate Food Hygiene.
  • HACCP level 2.
